Cookie Policy
Last updated July 2026
Manuscriptly uses a small number of cookies: two that the site needs to work, and analytics that run only if you say yes. This page lists every cookie we set, what it does, and how to change your choice at any time.
The cookies we set
| Cookie | Purpose | Category | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
| __session | Keeps you signed in to your account (set by our Auth0 sign-in) | Necessary | When your session ends |
| cc_cookie | Remembers the consent choice you made in the cookie banner | Necessary | 6 months |
| ph_*_posthog | PostHog product analytics: which features are used, anonymously until you sign in | Analytics (only with your consent) | 12 months |
Short-lived cookies also appear for a few minutes during the sign-in handshake and are deleted automatically. Sentry session replay, which also only runs with your consent, stores its data in your browser's session storage rather than a cookie.
What consent controls
Until you accept the analytics category in the banner, PostHog sets no cookies and captures nothing, and Sentry records no session replays. Error monitoring that keeps the service running stays on, configured not to attach your identity or IP address. Declining analytics never limits what the product does.
Changing your mind
Your choice is stored in the cc_cookie for six months, and you can change it whenever you like: reopen the preferences here or from the footer of any page.
Withdrawing consent takes effect immediately: analytics stop and the analytics cookie is no longer used. You can also delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.
Payments
Checkout happens on Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record, on their own site. Cookies set during checkout belong to Lemon Squeezy and are covered by their privacy and cookie policies.
